Local Storage Facility Offers Incentives to Aid Fire-Damaged Spanaway Food Bank Build Up Supplies

Spanaway storage facility A Storage Center has once again proudly partnered with the Emergency Food Network to try to provide some help for those local families who are in need after a fire devastated the Spanaway food bank.

A Storage Center is offering what they call their,  “Late Fee Amnesty” program.  Customers who have struggled throughout the year and accrued late fees are offered the opportunity to start over with a zero balance -  just by donating food.  Every can of unexpired food equals $1 towards those fees.

New customers will also receive $1 credit towards their rent, up to $20 per unit. Brandi Ulrey, Owner of A Storage Center and local real estate agent, has seen tremendous support for this program in the past when they’ve offered it during the holidays. “It’s a wonderful way for our customers to get caught up and to help local families at the same time,” she said. “We are proud of our community, and we know how hard people struggle to make ends meet.  It’s important for us to give back – to our customers, and to our neighbors in need.”

You don’t have to be a customer to make a donation. Donations from the general public are happily accepted. “Our community is known for coming together in solidarity for each other,” Ulrey said. “Hundreds of families have been affected by this tragedy, and the food bank was already struggling to address the need here in Spanaway.  We want to make sure that local families know that we stand with them.”

Donations are accepted at the Spanaway location: 15411 1st Ave. Ct. S. (behind Albertson’s at the corner of Military Road and Pacific Ave.)
